Visual System


The visual system allows presenting visual stimuli to the subject under study. It contains a lot of components which need to interact perfectly. The components are chosen with care to aim at the highest performance, flexibility and ease-of-use experience.

Components

  1. MRI compatible LCD display - BOLDScreen 32 UHD (Cambridge Research Systems)

  2. Audio-Video Switch (AVS) – AVS-HDMI2-4x4 (Black Box)

    • Switching device for audio and video.

  3. Dual head video card in the stimulus computer – NVIDIA(R) GeForce RTX(TM) 3060 Ti 8GB GDDR6 (LHR)

    • Deal head video output allows to see multiple desktops simultaneously, usually one as mirror of the experiment and the other for control.

  4. Dual monitors on the stimulus computer – Dell P2417H

  5. External video input on the BOX

    • Custom-built hardware interface system, see the section on BOX.
  6. Rear facing mirror on the head coil

    • Mirror setup mounted on the head coil to allow participants to look at the monitor.

Interface

Some components of the visual system are hardwired permanently, others components interface through BOX for easy access.
